01Who we are and what this policy covers
WEKRAM Technologies (“WEKRAM”, “we”, “us”) is a software engineering and technology services business based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. We operate the website at wekram.com (the “Website”).
This policy applies to personal information we collect through the Website and in correspondence that follows from it: business enquiries, product demo requests, careers interest and ordinary email or phone contact.
It does not cover the software systems we build for clients. For those systems the client organisation decides why and how personal data is used, and we handle it on the client’s instructions under our agreement with them.
For the purposes of India’s data-protection law, WEKRAM decides why and how the personal data described in this policy is processed. You can contact us at contact@wekram.com.
02Information we collect
Information you give us:
- Project enquiries (Contact page and the Build Your Business System tool): your name, email address, organisation, optional phone number, the type of system you are interested in, your requirements, and optionally your budget range and timeline. If you use the system builder, we also receive the system type, capabilities and scale you selected.
- Product demo requests: your name, email address, organisation, role, optional phone number and preferred time, the product you asked about, and any notes you add.
- Careers interest: your name, email address, your area of interest, optional links (such as a portfolio or profile) and the message you write.
- Anything else you choose to send us by email, telephone or post.
Information collected automatically:
- Technical data about the request: when you submit a form, your IP address and browser identifier (user-agent) are received by our server. We use them to limit abuse and include them in the notification email we receive.
- Standard server logs kept by our hosting provider, which typically include IP address, date and time, pages requested and browser details.
- A single preference in your browser’s local storage that remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme. It is not used to identify you.
At the time of writing the Website does not use advertising cookies, social-media tracking pixels or third-party analytics. If we introduce them we will update this policy first and, where required, ask for your consent.
Please do not send passwords, government identification numbers, financial account details, or confidential or classified operational information of any organisation through the Website’s forms. If you need to share confidential material, ask us for a confidentiality agreement first.
03Why we use your information
We use the personal information described above to:
- respond to your enquiry, prepare a proposal or arrange a product demonstration;
- assess your interest in working with us, if you contacted us about careers;
- keep a record of our correspondence and business dealings;
- operate, secure and improve the Website, including preventing spam and misuse; and
- comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests from authorities.
Where the law requires consent, we rely on the consent you give when you submit a form after reading this policy, and on any other lawful ground the applicable law permits, such as processing data you voluntarily provided to us for a specific purpose, where you have not told us you do not agree to that use. We use your information only for the purposes described here, and we do not sell it.
04Email and other communications
We reply to enquiries from contact@wekram.com. If you ask for a demo or proposal we may send follow-up messages about that request.
We may also send an automatic acknowledgement confirming that we received your submission.
We do not send marketing newsletters unless you separately ask us to. Every such message would include a way to opt out. You can ask us to stop contacting you at any time by emailing us.
Email is not a perfectly secure channel. Please keep that in mind when deciding what to include in a message.
06How long we keep information
We keep enquiry and demo-request emails for as long as needed to respond to you and for a reasonable period afterwards for our business records. Careers interest is kept so that we can consider you for future opportunities until you ask us to delete it.
When information is no longer needed for these purposes, or when you validly ask us to erase it, we delete or anonymise it, unless we are required by law to keep it.
07How we protect information
We use reasonable security safeguards appropriate to the information we hold. They include encrypted connections (HTTPS), server-side validation of everything submitted through the Website, limits on how often forms can be submitted, escaping of submitted text, restricted access to our mailbox, and keeping credentials out of our source code.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a personal data breach affects you, we will notify you and the relevant authority in the manner and within the time that the law requires.
08Your rights
Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the “DPDP Act”), individuals (“Data Principals”) have rights in relation to their personal data. These rights apply as, when and to the extent the relevant provisions of the DPDP Act and its rules are in force. They include the right to:
- obtain information about the personal data we process about you and the processing activities;
- ask us to correct, complete or update your personal data;
- ask us to erase your personal data, subject to any legal requirement for us to retain it;
- have your grievances about our handling of your data addressed;
- nominate another person to exercise your rights if you die or become unable to do so; and
- withdraw consent you have given at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing that took place before you withdrew, and we will tell you if withdrawing means we can no longer deal with your request.
To exercise any of these rights, email contact@wekram.com with the subject “Privacy request”. We may need to verify who you are before acting on a request, and we will respond within a reasonable time and within any period the law sets.
09Questions and grievances
If you have a question or complaint about how we handle your personal data, write to contact@wekram.com with the subject “Privacy grievance”, or call +91 7021631848 (Mon – Sat, 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM IST). We will acknowledge and address it promptly.
If you remain dissatisfied, you may have the right to approach the Data Protection Board of India in the manner provided by the DPDP Act, once the relevant provisions apply.
10Children
The Website is intended for businesses, institutions and professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal data of anyone under 18 years of age. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
11Legal framework
This policy is written with reference to the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the rules made under it, and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules under it. Provisions of those laws apply as and when they are brought into force. Nothing in this policy states or implies that any particular provision has, or has not, commenced.
12Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. The date of the latest version is shown at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will take reasonable steps to bring it to your attention and, where the law requires, ask for your consent again.
